Our goal when starting this company was to make a significant impact on the lives of people in the surrounding communities through health education, and eventually through disease prevention. Our slogan of “Todays Imaging, Tomorrows Health” was chosen because of that goal and we are proud of the many lives that we have touched to date.
Stroke is a significant and debilitating disease. It is the third leading killer in the nation behind cancer and heart disease and is the number one reason for nursing home admissions. And the most significant statistic, we feel, is that 75% of all strokes could be prevented with screening. Not to mention that 97% of the adult population cannot name one warning sign of a stroke. Those are the statistics that we endeavor to change with our educational workshops and with our vascular screenings.
Aside from our stroke education and Stroke Screening we offer two other vascular screenings. The Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Screening and the Ankle Brachial Index Screening. Medical research indicates that as many as 8 out of 100 people over the age of sixty could have an undetected aneurysm. The most important thing to note about that is, the vast majority of people who have an abdominal aortic aneurysm have no symptoms. The ankle brachial index (ABI) screens for the possibility of peripheral vascular disease, which is much like coronary artery disease. People with an abnormal ABI index may have a 3-5 times higher risk of heart disease and persons with severe peripheral arterial disease have a much higher mortality rate than those without. We feel these numbers are reason enough to educate and screen our communities. In addition, we offer an osteoporosis screening that identifies bone density loss and a limited ECG that identifies atrial fibrillation.
The most remarkable detail to mention is that in most cases, your own physicians are unable to order diagnostic testing if you exhibit no symptoms, primarily because insurance does not pay for testing without them. We strive to make our screenings affordable, convenient and accurate. All screenings are interpreted by a Radiologist and performed by highly trained ultrasonographers.
Feel free to request our informative brochure and flyer outlining our services. Our education workshops are offered at no charge and are not dependent upon setting up a screening. We look forward to educating and screening your community members.
